Willem is the founder of Hyvä Themes, the fastest Magento frontend currently on the market. He has been working with Magento since 2011. After he started specializing in performance optimization on Magento, he accidentially built Hyvä out of frustration with the Luma theme and the PWA solutions currently on the market. Hyvä focusses heavily on performance, reducing complexity and thereby also reducing the build time and developer frustration. Willem is also currently serving on the Magento Association Board of Directors.

Building Developer Happiness: the Hyvä toolbox
The thing I enjoy the most about building Hyvä are the tools we build for developers. Done right, a tool can reduce the time to launch substantially. The same is true for the ongoing costs after launch. The current renaissance of Magento is bringing an approach with a focus on simplicity into the limelight. In this presentation I want to show how the things built into Hyvä are focused on developer experience and how developers can get their job done more quickly while enjoying their work. Aside from showing concrete examples and a bit of code, I want to share the underlying ideas that make all the difference. These ideas will help attendees to build software that makes other developers happy.
