In the world of eCommerce, we often focus on success stories—those high-converting products, popular search terms, and top-performing strategies. However, this approach can lead to a critical oversight known as survivorship bias. Much like the analysis of World War II aircraft that only considered the planes that returned, eCommerce businesses can miss valuable insights by ignoring the "lost planes"—the search queries and strategies that didn’t succeed.
In this session, we will delve into the concept of survivorship bias and its implications for eCommerce. Drawing parallels with historical examples, we will explore how focusing solely on successful data can lead to misleading conclusions and missed opportunities.
Join us to learn how to navigate the pitfalls of survivorship bias, leverage the full spectrum of data, and drive sustainable growth in your eCommerce business.

There are so many choices when it comes to building and running an eCommerce store (headless, composable, micro/distributed services, monolithic, SaaS, self-hosted, etc.) that it can be overwhelming and unclear what is the best option for your business. In our experience, taking a pragmatic approach, reducing complexity and keeping things simple guarantees a better outcome.

We'll explain why Core Web Vitals should form an important (but not the only) part of your decision making procss, showcase the real world benefits this ethos has brought to our merchants and share the reasons why developers and agencies love working with this type of solution (and how that benefits merchants).
Plus, we’ll give insights on our traction and growth in the US along with sharing our recent and upcoming innovations that can supercharge your storefront, like Hyvä Enterprise, Hyvä Edge and integration with Adobe Payment Services and more!

What if the true potential of AI in e-commerce lies not just in dazzling customer experiences, but in the unseen operational efficiencies that silently propel success? This talk dives deep into the transformative power of AI—not just in the realms of sales and marketing, but in the often-overlooked operational efficiencies within platforms like Adobe Commerce. These areas, though less glamorous, are crucial to long-term success yet frequently remain underutilized by many in the industry.
While AI applications like personalized recommendations and dynamic pricing capture the headlines, there exists a profound opportunity to address the daily operational challenges merchants face. These challenges—ranging from the tedium of repetitive tasks and disjointed team communication to the overwhelming complexity of managing and analyzing vast data—can stifle growth and eat away at profitability.
AI stands at the frontier of solving these pain points, offering the ability to automate routine tasks, streamline cross-functional communication, and deliver real-time insights that empower smarter decision-making. Imagine AI simplifying inventory tracking, dynamically managing order statuses, and providing a clear, actionable understanding of customer behavior—all seamlessly integrated into the platforms you already use. By optimizing these back-end processes, merchants can minimize errors, reclaim valuable time, and refocus on strategic growth.
The focus of this talk is to provide a thoughtful and practical perspective on how AI can be harnessed to tackle these operational challenges, driving both efficiency and profitability. The goal is to engage with the audience in a discussion about the vast possibilities AI offers, particularly in solving the less visible, yet critical, challenges in e-commerce operations.
